1./ Why was the photo I uploaded rejected?

The system always sends an automatic reply email explaining the reason for the rejection. Generally, there are two possible issues:
- A photo that does not meet the requirements for an ID photo was uploaded (e.g., we cannot accept a Facebook selfie).
- A low-quality photo was uploaded (e.g., blurry, pixelated, too dark, etc.).

The ID photo should ideally be taken against a white background, facing forward, under proper lighting conditions, and showing your entire face clearly. The photo can be taken with a digital camera or a high-quality smartphone. To submit a new application, you must first delete the old one; only then can you upload your new photo.

2./ Why haven’t I received any information yet about the UniPass Card I requested?

In this case, the email address you provided is likely not listed in our database, so our automated response is not reaching you. You can also follow the status of your card request in your profile by logging in to our website with your username and password.

3./ When and where can I pick up my UniPass Card?

Card applications are accepted year-round for all members of the university community. Cards are produced on a two-week schedule. If you have uploaded an acceptable ID photo, your card will definitely be ready within a maximum of two weeks.

  1. Staff: Staff members can pick up their cards at the department of their choice; a detailed list of these departments is available on our website.
  2. Students: Students can pick up their university cards during office hours at the HAK Office corresponding to their study program; a detailed list of these offices is available on our website.

4./ Why can't I use the electronic services associated with my new card?

Please check if your card has been activated! Since August 1, 2018, all new cardholders must activate their UniPass card themselves! To do this, after receiving the physical card, you must log in to our website using your network ID and password. Next, click the “Card activation” button in your Profile and enter the three-digit CVV number located on the back of the card, below the barcode. You can also find help with activation in our E-learning course.

5./ How can I apply for a card if the system shows my status as "Alumni"?

Alumni status is granted to students who have previously enrolled in a program at the University of Debrecen. Anyone with active student or employee status in the LDAP central database is eligible to apply for a UniPass card. If your status is still listed as “Alumni” even though you have become an active employee or have already enrolled in a new program, please contact ISZK Helpdesk for assistance via email or by calling extension 66333. Once this is resolved, you will be able to apply for your university card.

We would also like to inform you that former university staff and students have the option to apply for an ALUMNI UniPass card. Please contact the Event Coordination and Alumni Center at the following email address. Feel free to reach out to them!

6./ What should I do if my email address has changed?

You cannot change your email address in your profile. You can request changes as follows:

1. Staff: Staff members must request an email address change through the ISZK Helpdesk via email or by calling extension 66333.
2. Students: You can request a change to your email address in Neptun. Once the change has been made there, you must log back into your profile to verify it. The information will be updated within a few days. If your email address still has not been updated, you must request a change by emailing the ISZK Helpdesk or calling extension 66333.

7./ What should I do if my name has changed?

1. Staff: Please send an email to ISZK Helpdesk, where they will assist you. You will need your employee ID to update your information. Once the update is successful, your correct name will appear in your profile, and you will then be able to request your university ID card.

2. Students: First, you must officially notify HAK and request the name change via email. To do this, please provide the staff with your Neptun code and send them a copy of your ID card showing your new name. Once you receive confirmation from HAK that your information has been updated, please verify your name in your profile as well. After that, you will be able to apply for your university ID card.

8./ My status has changed. I used to be a student, but now I'm employed. What should I do?

In this case, please first send an email to ISZK Helpdesk. They will update your status in the central database. You will definitely need your employee ID for this! Once the data has been updated, our system will update your profile. You do not need to request a new card due to the change in status; you can continue using your current one until it expires.

9./ What should I do if I have a card but still can't register at the library?

A common problem among new cardholders is that they forget to activate their cards. Since August 1, 2018, all new cardholders must activate their UniPass cards themselves! To do this, after picking up your physical card, log in to our website using your username and password. Then, in your Profile, click the “Card Activation” button and enter the three-digit CVV number located on the back of the card, below the barcode. You can also find help with activation in our E-learning course.

For existing cardholders, the most common cause of this issue is having two university profiles. In this case, please check which username you used to apply for your university card and which username you would like to use to register with the library now. If the two usernames are different, please contact ISZK Helpdesk by email or by phone at extension 66333 and request that your profiles be merged. Once the merger is complete, you will be able to register for DEENK using your active university card.

10./ My study program has changed. What should I do in this case?

Your UniPass card is not affected by which program or faculty you are enrolled in. This was only relevant when you picked up the card at the HAK office.

11./ What should I do if I've lost my card, it's been stolen, or it's been damaged?

In such cases, you must log in to our website using your network ID and password, where you can suspend or permanently deactivate your card in your profile.
Please note that “In case of the loss of, damage to, or destruction of the card, or when a new card is requested due to the change of the name of the cardholder, all cardholders shall pay a fee in the amount specified in Annex 2.” This fee is 6,000 HUF.
In the event of theft, if you send us an official police report or other documentation, you will not be required to pay this fee, and your new card will be issued free of charge.

12./ Can I apply for a university card as a retiree?

We would like to inform you that former university employees and students are eligible to apply for an ALUMNI UniPass card. Please contact the Event Coordination and Alumni Center at the following email address. Feel free to reach out to them!
